What are the physical causes of vision disturbances?

Bad vision develops in a large percent as a result of bad vision habits.

Situations that are not ideal for clear vision
These by them selves don't cause visual problems since they don't damage the function of the healthy eye. But in an eye that does not function correctly to begin with could lead to deterioration of the condition.

Overworked, overstressed
In today's fast paced world we are inclined to only pay attention to our health when we suffer the severe consequences of its demise. This tendency is unfortunately true for our children more and more. Few schools teach healthy living and positive examples are far and few in between. The eye is the first organ that suffers from the overworked, overstressed lifestyle.

Insufficient diet
Absence of basic nutrients from the diet can cause a decline in the eye function. The most important is the adequate amount of vitamin A to be included in our diet.

Insufficient blood supply
Physical passivity results in lesser amount of blood bringing nutrients to the eye. Its path is obstructed as early as the level of the neck and shoulders since constant muscle cramps are observed there in most people.

Incorrect posture
As a result of the constant muscle cramps the vertebrae will not hold the head as it was intended. The tilts forward and the eyes position changes in the orbital cavity, that is compensated by the tensing of the eye muscles. Unnecessary muscle tension weakens the eye muscles and thus the eye deteriorates.

Incorrect viewing method
People in general and more so children are not aware of the fact that they are viewing television, computer monitor in the wrong way and thus almost always they are using their eyes in the wrong way as well. The more we strain to see the worse will be the condition of the eye.

Influences of other diseases
Health problems are the easiest to discover in the eyes. Fact is that more disease befalls on a child (adenitis, frequent bouts with cold, bad teeth, ear infection, etc.) the higher the chance of the eye going bad as well.

Why TV and computer are harmful to the eye?

The eye was invented to see in three dimensions. The flat monitor only offers two dimensions. The eye is fixated on to the monitor since muscles need minimal amount of work. Under normal circumstances we blink 15 times while in front of a monitor only twice. What a difference. It is no wonder that our eyes get dry. Than there is an other absurd thought: the screen emits light thus it is a light source. Is there any other animal that is able to stare into the light six to eight hours per day?
The screens electromagnetic field attracts dust particles that in turn contaminate our cornea.

Children love watching TV. Continuous movement, the oscillation of light, vibrant colors, friendly figures fixates their attention. The brain enters a passive state that could lead to psychological disturbances. The child stares at the screen this alone damage the eye muscles.

The computer causes inner tension and as we know it could lead to visual disturbances. Almost all of us had the computer freeze while we were working on a very important document. Children are often engaged exciting and increasingly difficult games. These are all sources of stress.
These facts are pretty scary for the eye, right?

Visual disturbances pose a very complex problem.

The greatest disadvantage of the spectacles that they fix bad condition of the eye. The curse of the eye muscles that instead working toward to perfect vision they have to adopt to the spectacles. They become even more tensed in this process.
But it is not as simple as this. Without spectacles the child will squint to see better thus putting even more strain on the eye muscles. Plus leaning forward which results in bad posture that leads to more muscle cramps. And as you know it leads to declining vision.

So the spectacles are only able to fix the visual disturbance but in exchange prevent the development of muscle cramps resulting from bad posture. The spectacles are also making the eye to focus but never the same way as it would while not wearing eye glasses. In all we can say that the more we wear eye glasses the weaker our eyes will become. Spectacles have their advantages and their disadvantages and that is why the optimal solution is to prevent the need of eye glasses with frequent eye exercise!

The eyes of a child with visual problems tire easily and so their ability to perform is also lower. This is where the vicious circle begins: deterioration of visual problems can be prevented with eyeglasses, but the eyeglasses will not cure the visual problems. So the tiring of the eye will not stop only gets limited a bit.
